Another 11 innocent Romanian sailors were captured.
On Tues day 05/05/2009, a German cargo ship was hijacked by the Somali pirates. The cargo ship's 11 crew members were from Romania. The hijacked German ship name is MV Victoria and it was sailing towards Jeddah. The European flagged ship was sailing in the east west corridor of the Gulf when it was attacked and hijacked by the pirates.
As per the news all the crew is safe but they are under the custody of the bandits.
Last month also five Romanian crew members who were working on an Italian tug were captured by the Somalia pirates along with their tug.
Normal ransom money per ship is 1 million US dollars and the crew too will be kept inside the vessels till the bandits get their ransom money.
